In the event that your baggage is missing or damaged by the negligence or willful fault of Jin Air, you may get compensation in accordance with the Jin Air Baggage Compensation Rules.
Depending on your itinerary, the Montreal Convention or Warsaw Convention applies to the liability of Jin Air.
If your baggage is damaged, you have to report it in writing to the airline within seven days of receiving the baggage or in the case of delay or loss, within 21 days after placing your baggage with the airline, and submit the baggage receipt
The following items shall not be held liable for damage, loss, delay, or any damage arising from carriage.
- When Jin Air has taken necessary measures for damage prevention or when it is proven that such measures were impossible due to force majeure circumstances.
- Scratches, wear and tear, dents, scratches, stains, etc., occurring during normal baggage handling processes.
- Damage caused by accidents or negligence on the part of the customer.
- Damage caused by exceeding the weight limit of 23kg per baggage or by forcefully overpacking items (including damage and loss of contents due to excessive bag weight).
- Damage and contamination of contents due to breakage of liquid items (cosmetics, honey, alcohol, etc.).
- Sports equipment not placed in hard cases (dedicated packaging containers) and musical instruments accepted as checked baggage.
- Damage to films due to X-ray passage during security screening.
- Loss or damage to accessories, outer covers, locks, straps, and other attachments attached to baggage.
